Toya Lake Sports Festival. Pay 1000 yen (£7-ish) and get free use of a bunch of canoes, kayaks, a banana boat and a speed boat to Nakajima Island AND lunch too! (BBQ’d lamb, noodles etc). Brilliant value, especially as most families wouldn’t have their own equipment.
You can guess loads of people turned up, majority from Elementary and the entire student body from the High School.
